The Charges/The Laws

12:16pm. Before deliberations begin, Judge Michael Dwyer (reading from a script) must now instruct the jury on the laws that apply to this case. Healy is paying attention. He leans on his desk. Elbows on table. Arms crossed.

-Dwyer: "You should be guided by your memory of the evidence. You do not have to accept the arguments of the lawyers."

-12:29pm. This part of the trial is formality, but it is a lengthy one. Dwyer: "It must appear that the inference of guilt is the only one that can be reasonably drawn from the facts."

In the meantime, post your thoughts by clicking on "comments" below.

I too think there is some doubt in the jurors minds. There were some terrible mistakes made in regards to the mishandling some of the evidence. Also the point that whitman made when does flight stop ? I am trying to look at this objectively and I don't have a good feling about it.

I too am worried about this. I certainly want to see this animal locked up for a long time, but I'm not feeling it.

You have to go by the "LAW" and the law states that even if you participated in an act that lead to the death of a person, you are just as guilty - even if you weren't the direct "trigger" person. That was explained to the jury BEFORE they were selected!

I do not believe it will take them long to deliberate - GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS!

All these mistrial guesses must be coming from some people in Philadelphia! Friends/family of you-know-who!

WE ALL KNOW THAT HEALEY IS NOT BEING TRIED FOR MURDER 1ST, BECAUSE HE DIDN'T PULL THE TRIGGER. ITS MURDER 2ND, I HOPE THE JURY IS SMART ENOUGH TO KEEP THAT IN THEIR HEAD.
GUILTY!

having been in a juror's position before, for a 2nd deg murder trial, i'm pretty sure they'll find him guilty. there's plenty of evidenc to support this charge.
